Total Solar Eclipse Live
About This Episode
South Carolina is the prime location for a total solar eclipse crossing the U.S for the first time since 1918. Live from Columbia, South Carolina, the 3rd largest city in the US on the centerline, SCETV host Beryl Dakers and guests will follow the “path of totality” and capture images from the South Carolina State Museum Observatory telescope. Viewers will have the extremely rare experience of witnessing a 100% total solar eclipse.
Patrick McMillan, host of the national public television series Expeditions with Patrick McMillan, will be based at the SC Botanical Gardens at Clemson University, and report about the impact of the eclipse on plants and wildlife. Additional experts bring perspectives from NASA and NOA, along with noted astronomers and visitors, who will be in Columbia for the eclipse. Total Solar Eclipse Live offers audiences not equipped with special glasses or viewing devices a safe way to view the eclipse.
