About This Episode
On January 11, 2007, Andrew McAuley set out to become the first sea-kayaker to cross the Tasman Sea. Leaving his wife and young son behind, he attempts to travel from Australia and New Zealand on one of the most wild, lonely and dangerous stretches of ocean. On February 9, New Zealand maritime authorities receive a distress call. Will Andrew McAuley’s unshakable need to conquer the unknown ultimately cost him his life?
Featuring interviews with McAuley’s team during the expedition and video footage captured on board, Kayak Man is a psychological portrait of a man bent on adventure.
In Mumbai, it is estimated that thirteen people die on public transportation each day. Traffic has increased so rapidly that the entire city becomes gridlocked during rush hour. The solution? The construction of a massive suspension bridge to provide relief from the deadly traffic jams. Mumbai Disconnected follows three supporters and opponents of the project: a resident horrified by the overpasses, a father trying to get to work every day, and the vice president of the construction company that is building the bridge.
