Trust: Second Acts in Young Lives
About This Episode
Chicago’s neighborhood Albany Park Theater Project (APTP) is dedicated to helping teenagers re-imagine their difficult life experiences into creative interpretations on stage. Marlin, an 18-year-old Hondureña, tells her story: enduring rape as a young girl; immigrating to the United States; suffering further abuse at the hands of her own brother; and overcoming substance addiction to finally facing her traumatic past. With her fellow young actors, they transform her life story into a daring, original play.
Trust: Second Acts in Young Lives follows Marlin and APTP's actors as they transform a personal story into public expression, inviting family, friends, teachers and classmates to see Remember Me Like This during its seven-weekend run.
