Passionate Politics

About This Episode

Passionate Politics is a one-hour documentary that tells the story of Charlotte Bunch, who went from idealistic young civil rights activist to lesbian separatist to internationally-recognized leader of a campaign to put women's rights front and center on the global human rights agenda.

Interweaving interviews with rich archival material, Passionate Politics presents a deeply emotional and personal portrait of a lifelong activist. This is the story of modern feminist activism, from its 1960's roots in the struggles for social justice through its outward-branching connections with global campaigns against gender-based violence in the 1980s to its present day fight.

Following the documentary, director Tami Gold and Charlotte Bunch discuss the making of the film.
